Guidelines and Rules of Elections for Tri-State OHV Club Board Members

A. The Board members position is a 2 year term.

B. Nominees must attend 75% of the club meetings.

C. Person cannot nominate him or herself.

D. Incumbents do not need to be nominated. They may speak up and nominate themselves.

E. Nominee can only be nominated for one position.

F. Nomination needs to be second by another member.

G. Officers cannot nominate or second the nomination

H. The nominated person may accept or decline the nomination

I. Officers are allowed to vote.

J. Those nominated for a seat on the board cannot be around the ballot box the night of the elections.

K. Nominees must be present at meeting to be nominated.

L. Nominees must be present the night of elections.

M. Only those that are present at the night of elections may vote only once.

N. Negative comments towards the nominated person will not be tolerated. This will eliminate your right to run.

O. No absentee ballots are allowed.

P. All voters must be at least 18-years-old.


Tri-State OHV Club Description of Board Member


Vice President: (voted for in November of odd numbered years, taking office in January of even numbered years)

By Law Description: The vice president shall perform the duties of the president in the absence or incapacity of the president, shall automatically become the president of the organization upon the resignation or death of the president, and in the event the vice president becomes the president, and new vice president shall be elected to fill the vacancy
  1. The Vice President must be able to fill all the tasks of other board members if they are unable to follow through with their task.
  2. The Vice President must attend any type of meetings if the President is unable to attend.
  3. The Vice President will be expected to stay in contact with the President and be up to date with all issues in case of the Presidents absence.
  4. Vice President must be 21 years or older.

Event Coordinator and Safety Manager: (voted for in November of odd numbered years, taking office in January of even numbered years)

By Law Description: The safety manager shall be certified to train other members to provide safety courses for people to meet the requirements of operating an off highway vehicle. The safety manager shall also be required to schedule the safety classes and keep all records of the participants that finish the course.

By Law Description: The event coordinator shall schedule club events and keep the Executive Board informed of all activities. The event coordinator must always keep safety and club member’s interest in mind of all special events.
  1. Safety Manager must become an ATV Safety Education Instructor.
  2. Safety Manager must manage the safety classes and keep records of each student.
  3. Event Coordinator must list ideas for monthly events and/or rides with club members in mind.
  4. Event Coordinator should attend 50% of the monthly events and/or rides.
  5. Event Coordinator is in charge of lining up parades and extra summer events.
  6. Event Coordinator / Safety Manager must be able to work with the rest of the board and everything must but be board and/or club approved.
  7. Event Coordinator / Safety Manager must be 21 years or older.
